1 Day Design Thinking Bootcamp

DESCRIPTION

Immerse yourself in a full day, hands-on Design Thinking Workshop, working side-by-side with design thinking coaches. Our session will be centered around b2b customer acquistion, something we all care deeply about!

Understanding your customer, framing your problem, rapid ideation and prototyping are all part of this fast-paced day of instructional lectures, demonstrations, and guided, hands-on practice.

In this program, you’ll learn the essential elements of human-centered design and experimentation-driven design thinking process to apply in a real life setting right away.

The day will be led by Natalie Schneider, VP of Consumer Experience, Anthem.

Natalie Schneider is not just a healthcare and consumer experience expert. She is a practitioner. She is in the trenches every day, and knows first-hand how to improve a company’s bottom line by creating distinctive consumer and provider experiences that reduce churn and lower the cost to serve. This is why she is a nationally- recognized healthcare experience thought leader and spokesperson.

Having spent over 20 years working for companies like Anthem, McKinsey and Company, Ford, Sallie Mae and GMAC, Natalie knows how to design and implement award-winning consumer experiences by cultivating buy-in from the Boardroom down. She knows how to navigate the funding and budgeting process, and assemble cross-functional teams to research, design, prototype and pilot experiences – all while fostering a consumer-first culture.

And while at first glance, Natalie’s expertise is primarily in healthcare and consumer experience, she is passionate about the creative process, having studied at an art and design academy in South Africa. Her unique career trajectory is a blend of aesthetics, technology and business sensibilities — integrating creativity with corporate strategies and human-centered design, using consumer experience to drive bottom-line impact.Natalie’s extensive education includes an MBA from Duke University – Fuqua School of Business. She was recently named one of the nations top CX Experts for 2016 by the Customer Experience Professionals Association (CXPA), and was honored as a 2016 CXPA Consumer Experience Innovator of the Year (Top 10) and a winner of a 2016 CX Impact Award. Today, she serves on the Board of the CXPA and Kelley School of Business Life Sciences Board (and is also a guest lecturer). She has also served on the Board of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, American Lung Association and Super Bowl.

An accomplished and in-demand speaker, Natalie is regularly featured at high-profile conferences and events, with crowds as large as 6,000. Past speaking engagements include Merck, Google/MedTech, Samsung, Duke, AHIP, the National Business Group on Health (NBGH), and more. As a respected thought leader and consumer experience expert, she has been a contributor to a number of media outlets, including C-SPAN and the Wall Street Journal.

Lisa Semidey, Senior Service Designer

Lisa is a member of the Consumer Experience Team at Anthem. She is interested in the consumer-centered approach Anthem embraces because she believes that people are experts of their own experiences. Asking consumers the right questions, leads to designing better experiences for them.

She recently completed her MFA in Visual Communication Design from the Herron School of Art and Design. As part of her education, she was able to participate in the IU Health Summer Fellowship, which provided an opportunity to apply design thinking within the healthcare space. Prior to graduate school, she worked as a designer/art director at various studios and ad agencies in Puerto Rico and NYC. This diverse design experience has allowed her to develop her visual story-telling skills paired with critical thinking and brand strategy development.

Lisa is originally from Puerto Rico. She is passionate about understanding people and cultures through food, music and travel, and doting on her basset mix Leica.

Coltin Metzger

Coltin Metzger joined the Consumer Experience team at Anthem in early 2017. Energized by the opportunities he recognizes for improvement and change in the health care industry, he applies a human centered approach to strategize and design for the future of the health care. Coltin is currently completing his M.S. in Human Computer Interaction from Indiana-University-Purdue-University of Indianapolis. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. An Indiana native, he enjoys being outdoors, running, traveling and spending time with his girlfriend and dog.
